It’s lily. And while I’m being a pedantic bastard myself, I quite like the whole “I could care less” thing so I used it, knowing that it doesn’t entirely make sense. Language as we know it today does and will continue to change, and sometimes those changes are sort of mistakes and sometimes what isn’t a mistake today sort of was 500 years ago when Fs looked more like Ss. I say use what you like and I won’t have a bad word to say about it. But lily still is spelled with 4 letters today, as the dictionary would have it. As you were.

It is possible that that I misheard PB. What I thought was "Give em hell: you Rool!" was probably closer to "Single L, you fool." The leather bite-strap may have muffled PB's speech, and the egregious misspelling (in his name) may indeed have pushed him over the edge. He is sleeping peacefully now and it may take some time for the sedatives to wear off, so I suspect we may have to live in ignorance. On the other hand, PB may have been thinking of poor Jill Masterton.

Oh and while I'm here, my associate PB (Pedantic Bastard) asks me to mention that the the correct expression is in fact "couldn't care less". He's sitting beside me right now ranting about "see what happens when you let Americans rule the world" and "it's gilded gold not gild the lilly". Oh dear I have to go now, and find that piece of leather for him to bite on.

I think the best kid’s cakes are the ones the kids like to look at the parents get to eat &duck.

Despite the pleasure I take in baking, I harbour no desire to decorate competitively. We were even given a Women’s Weekly kids cookbook, and I still know that I will be doing a round choccie cake with smarties on top. Possibly because I was silly enough to give birth on Christmas Eve and there is enough other cooking to be doing.
